How to measure your finger

With a thread
Wrap a thread around the base of your finger without pulling, mark where it meets, straighten it and measure with a ruler.

With a paper strip
Cut a strip of paper about 5 mm wide, wrap it around your finger, mark the overlap and measure up to the mark.

With a ring that fits
The most precise way. Put a ring that fits you well on a ruler and measure its inner diameter, edge to edge along the inside.

Finger circumference

The finger circumference is divided by 3, a ring's inner diameter is taken as is, rounded to the nearest 0.5.

Measuring in the morning or after salty food - the finger is swollen and the size comes out larger than it really is.
Measuring in the cold - the finger is almost half a size thinner.
Forgetting about width: a wide band fits tighter, so take it about a third of a size larger.
Ordering "roughly". If you have to guess, go half a size up: it is easier to make a ring smaller than larger.
